Gift Card Development in Indonesia and Its Potential in Southeast Asia
Historically, gift cards started in the US as stored value cards where brands could issue cards and customers could buy them as gifts. Recent development in gift cards indicates how gift cards are more than just gifts. It’s also a very effective loyalty tool to educate people to be more accustomed to cashless payments. We will explore the role of gift cards in the ASEAN retail and digital economy and what can be developed from it.
Speaker: Antonius Taufan, Chief Executive Officer, Giftcard
The Future of Strategy –
A Transformative Approach to Strategy for a World that Won’t Stand Still
The FutureProof approach to strategy was developed by A.T. Kearney in response to the deteriorating state of strategic output among today’s organizations. Motivated by research, inspired by some of the most visionary strategic thinkers, and tested in client engagements, FutureProof Strategy promises to turn the tide of futile strategic exercises by bringing together three powerful principles: future inspiration, organizational inclusion, and a portfolio approach to capturing competitive opportunities. Used in combination, these principles transform strategy from ineffective, sequential, top-down instruction to purposeful and ongoing strategic competitive domination.
Speaker: Dr. Martin Fabel, Partner Global, A.T. Kearney
Digital in ASEAN: On the threshold of transformation
ASEAN companies’ ability to play on a global economic stage is dependent on their ability to operate in the digitally driven economy of tomorrow, not the economic structure in which they compete today. Business leaders must take a more active role in promoting a digital agenda across Southeast Asia to ensure that the ASEAN region becomes a viable player on the international stage. The good news is that today’s new wave of disruption holds immense potential for companies that can move fast—those that know how to leverage the opportunities disruption presents. As a first step, business leaders must ascertain the movement of disrupters in their own industries, and begin to put in place the capabilities necessary for success in a world that doesn’t play by the old rules.
Speaker: Nils Michaelis, Managing Director for Accenture Digital in ASEAN
Co-creating Value for ASEAN SME Ecosystem

Borderpass : Future of ASEAN Travel
BorderPass intends to revolutionize ASEAN travel by replacing paper immigration forms with online profiles, which are sent to the destination country the moment a flight is booked. Instead of a last minute review when the passenger lands, immigration authorities will be able to scrutinize passengers weeks, if not months in advance. Pre-cleared passengers will then be able to use a BorderPass automated gate, which incorporates the latest in biometric verification technology, skipping a potentially lengthy queue. BorderPass will deliver speed, security, and a tangible benefit to ASEAN nationals for having an ASEAN identity.
Speaker: Faisal Ariff, Founder, BorderPass
