Dr. Ilham Akbar Habibie Co-Founded Mitra Energia Ltd. in 2004. Dr. Habibie is the owner of PT Ilthabi Bara Utama and serves as its President and Director. He has also been the Chief Executive Officer and President of a number of aerospace and other companies which he founded. He served as a scientist and lecturer at the Technical University of Munich for seven years. He went on to work as an engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplane Group in the United States, from 1994 to 1996. While working in the United States, he assisted the President Director of Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara (‘IPTN’) the state-owned aerospace company in Indonesia, on the N2130 Regional Jet Program.

Since 1996, he served as Executive Vice President and Program Manager for Regional Jet Division of IPTN, subsequently the Executive Vice President of the Airplane Business Unit and then the Operation & Commercial Executive Vice President until 2000. He left PT. Dirgantara Indonesia in June 2001 to pursue his career in the private sector. Since 2002, he has held senior positions at a number of Indonesian companies in the private sector, including Chief Executive Officer and President Director of PT. He owns 50 per cent. of Ilthabi Ltd., of Ilthabi Sdn Bhd. As well as its stake in Mitra (prior to Mitra’s acquisition), Ilthabi Sdn Bhd also has an investment in Aviation Support Ltd. Hendro began his career with FrieslandCampina group in 1988 as Small Holder Plantation Manager of PT Dieng Djaya in Central Java, later becoming Deputy Director. He was relocated to Jakarta in 1995, first as Assistant Director then Site Director of PT Foremost Indonesia a dairy processing company. His achievements at these two FrieslandCampina companies resulted in his appointment as Human Resources and General Affairs Director of PT Friesche Vlag Indonesia from 1998 to 2003. Following the company’s transformation into PT Frisian Flag Indonesia, Hendro became Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Director, a role which he held for seven years. In 2010, when Frisian Flag Indonesia re-launched its brand, Hendro served as Trade Marketing Director until August 2012. An Indonesian national, Hendro is currently based in Singapore. He is an agricultural engineering graduate of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta and is a keen golfer.

Over the past 7 years, she has strategically developed an innovative eco-system, creating opportunities for meaningful partnerships between the university and industry, NGOs, communities and government agencies. Through her ability to develop strong ties and work collaboratively with knowledge experts, UKM has been able to generate endowment funds worth more than RM20 million for the establishment of two chairs. These are the UKM-Sime Darby Foundation Chair for Sustainable Development – Towards Zero Waste Technology for the Oil Palm Industry (hosted at the Faculty of Engineering) and the UKM-Sime Darby Foundation Chair on Climate Change (hosted at the Institute of Climate Change Research). As Executive Director of the ASEAN Youth Volunteer- Leaders Programme, she has a strong passion for inspiring youth across ASEAN to develop leadership skills through volunteerism and community engagement.
